Alexis Bergan-Guzman, DC, MAMS, BFA, LMT
A chiropractic physician and licensed massage therapist, Dr Alexis offers affordable, comprehensive bodywork services, based on a blend of Evidence Based Practice Methods, including chiropractic medicine and massage therapy, as well as the wisdom of Ancient Healing modalities, such as energy medicine and shamanic bodywork.
Dr Alexis Bergan-Guzman loves serving patients and families with a sense of community and developing life-long collaborative strategies with each individual to facilitate achievement of their health goals.
Dr Alexis has traveled around the world and enjoyed opportunities to breathe in life, to observe, and to interact in a thoughtful, intuitive, and connected way. She holds the vision and intention to contribute to the evolution of human consciousness and brings a spiritual approach to her work.
Dr Alexis has a diverse and dynamic academic background and holds multiple degrees, including a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Associated Medical Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and post graduate studies in pre-medical sciences at Northwestern University. Additionally, she completed training in massage therapy and holistic bodywork at Educating Hands School of Massage in Miami, and continues to grow in her knowledge and practice of bodywork modalities. Dr Alexis is a licensed massage therapist in the states of Illinois and Florida. Dr Alexis is also a certified yoga instructor.
Dr Alexis has long-standing history as a health care professional, including work in medical research. Additionally, she has completed vocational training as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) which has provided her an deeper understanding of patient care practices that are not customarily encountered in a Primary Care setting.
Having completed her doctoral degree in chiropractic medicine at the National University of Health Sciences, She is currently a licensed chiropractic physician in Tennessee as well as Florida. Additionally, Dr Alexis is an active creative artist and writer; she has multiple publications and has exhibited in local, national, as well as international events.
Dr Alexis celebrated her graduation from medical school by serving members of the Muscular Dystrophy community by serving as as a charity runner for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy’s Run For Our Sons group in the 2010 Walt Disney World Marathon. Although she completed several other athletic events, including half-marathons and triathlons, this was her first marathon and she really enjoyed it! Dr Alexis also has an avid love for other recreational sports, especially those which include whole body movements and emphasize kinesthetic awareness through movement and functional anatomy including Pilates, yoga, and swimming.
Through her work and testimony of her life, Dr Alexis hopes to empower others in the pursuit of their own wellness and to contribute to the establishment of a world where we are no longer victims to our own devices. Her dynamic approach to career reflects Dr Alexis’ realization that as whole persons, we are able to call upon multiple talents and resources within ourselves in order to create a comprehensive and rich life experience and to contribute to the betterment of mankind.
